Just a Little Sunday in the Canadian Rockies

I love that we can decide literally the night before to go snowboarding the next morning without even flinching.  We woke up early on Sunday and got on the road so that we could be up at the mountain when it opened.  Seeing the sunrise on the mountains was unbelievable!

So, Matt and I are getting pretty good at snowboarding!  We could really tell this time that we are improving because we were able to last from about 9-2 and went on about 20 runs, compared to our first time when we barely made it 2 hours and only about 5 runs!  It's so much more fun when you spend more time on your board than on your butt!  It was a really nice temperature today and it was snowing, great conditions for snowboarding.

Not sure what I'm doing here but this in the lodge where we grabbed lunch
Snowy day!

Birthday Boy

Matt turned 29 on February 3rd so we went out to celebrate!  We planned to have dinner and then head to the Flames hockey game, but the restaurant ended up being SUPER crowded.  So change of plans...we stumbled upon a neat pub called The Drum and the Monkey, and we went in had a beer and birthday cupcakes before the game and grabbed some dinner at the stadium.  Beer and cupcakes is a surprisingly good combination!  The Drum and the Monkey is one of our new favorite places by the way.

The Flames ended up beating the Blackhawks, which was really fun to see (since they don't win very often)!  Our seats were a little better than last time...a bit closer to the action.
