Thirty Years and Thirty Weeks!

I celebrated my 30th birthday at the same time I was 30 weeks pregnant!  I was a little apprehensive about turning 30 just because it seemed like such a huge milestone...no more twenties!  But, Matt made it really special.  He helped me celebrate the whole week by giving me a surprise each day.  It was also so nice to get cards and gifts in the mail, and Facebook messages from friends and family, near and far.

Surprise Day 1:  Calla Lilies...my favorite!!
Surprise Day 2:  Such a pretty necklace.  Matt told me the two diamonds represent him and I, and the blue stone represents Baby Meyer :)  We also had dinner that night at Mercato, my absolute favorite restaurant in Calgary.
Surprise Day 3:  Matt planned a surprise dinner at Anejo with lots of friends and then tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil!
Surprise Day 4:  A pair of Toms for the summer :)
Surprise Day 5:  Pretty white maternity tank from Posh Mommy
I also got beautiful jewelry and gifts from family and friends!  Thanks to everyone for helping make my 30th one of the best ones yet :)

Baby Meyer 3D Ultrasound

This week, we scheduled a 3D ultrasound to see our little guy.  It was absolutely amazing!  We were able to watch him for about 45 minutes and got some really great pictures of him as well.  We even got to listen to his heartbeat at the end.  Our technician said that everything looked perfect!  My mom and Matt's dad even got to watch the session live while we were there.  I can definitely see that he has some of Matt's features.  Only about 11 weeks left to go!  We can't wait to meet him!

Houston Baby Party

Matt's mom and sister, Melissa, planned a special day in Houston for us to celebrate our little guy on the way!  The weather was absolutely perfect and all of our amazing friends came out.
There was a "Texas" theme so the tables were decorated with plaid table cloths, tiny horses and sheriff badges.  We had guacamole, salsa, seven layer dip and chips to munch on, along with tea sandwiches and yummy cupcakes.  We played "pin the sperm on the egg" and there was even a photo of what our baby might look like (I hope not!).
We opened our presents while decked out in baby-themed cowboy hats and got so many great things:  lots of outfits and necessities for when he arrives.
Our son will be set with Astros gear, Braves gear, Purdue and Penn State gear, and Cubs gear!  The favors were "Texas" glasses with bubble gum cigars and mints wrapped in a bandanna!  The whole day was really wonderful and we had the best time!  We are so lucky to have such great family and friends!

Baby Shower in PA!

I recently traveled back to Pennsylvania to visit with family.  It was the first time I've seen them since telling them I was pregnant back in November!  My family planned a beautiful baby shower for me while I was there.  The theme was "I'll love you to the moon and back" and everything was perfect, complete with moon and star decor, moon and star shaped sandwiches, cupcakes, cookies and favors!
After snacks and lunch, we moved into the living room to open presents.  Baby and I got so many amazing things and it's safe to say that our little one is going to be very well-dressed!
There was also a onesie decorating station for guests to help decorate a onesie that our little guy will wear.  Also, guests filled out cards with their "Wishes for Baby".  All of the little touches made the day so special.
I had such an amazing time at the shower and felt so loved!  Our little guy is already so lucky to have so many people that love him!  Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so wonderful!
Next, we'll be traveling back to Houston in April for a co-ed baby party!  We're looking forward to warm weather and getting together with family and friends.
